Hương is an experimental typeface currently available in two displays, Đẹp and Béo.
The typeface is inspired by the vibrant season of the Tết Lunar New Year, weaving fond nostalgia and celebrated traditions to carve out its notable pillow forms. The synthesis of aesthetics and cultural symbolism in this typeface is made with the intention to invite positive feelings and fond memories of this vibrant season. It reminds us that the Vietnamese culture can be experienced from wherever you are in the world.
Rooted in sentiment, Hương was designed with the intention of learning more about Vietnamese traditions. As my final capstone, this project pays respect to my family, elders and the Vietnamese community that was significant in my upbringing.
